If you know anything about me, you know I’m a geek for Terence Winter’s “Boardwalk Empire”. There’s many creatives responsible for the series’ brilliance, but Terence is the showrunner and the one who truly shapes the show. I also deeply respect Tim Van Patten‘s directing, when he and Terence combine in an episode, there’s no topping it. I truly feel Boardwalk is the best show ever to grace television. From the story, acting, character development, costuming, music, editing, it’s just transcendent. Season 2 was by far my favorite so far, with Shakespearean themes threaded throughout..

Season 3 was good but a bit one dimensional for me, with Gyp Rosetti being a obvious bad guy with a predictable collision course at the end. Season 4 seems to introduce a new type of enemy in one of my favorite actors, Jeffrey Wright, who i first took notice of when he played Jean Michel Basquiat, opposite David Bowie who played Warhol. What an amazing performance they both had in that, as well as a sleuth of other acting greats. Anyhow, here’s the trailer for Season 4 of “Boardwalk Empire”…
